Your Starting Point

Do you feel angry, frustrated, or sad? Are you unhappy some, most, or all of the time?

Good, that is an important starting point. Seriously. These negative feelings are life’s way of telling you that you are not on the right path.

If everything was perfect in your life, then you would have no desire to make one single change to your current situation. Everyone needs motivation to make changes, to take action. If you want life to get better, then let these negative feelings motivate you to make positive changes.

Maybe you don’t have negative feelings every day. Maybe it’s just once in a while. You don’t have to be unhappy about everything in your life; maybe you’re unhappy just in one area. Maybe it’s your family life, school, friends, romantic partner or lack of one, pressure about your future, issues with drugs or alcohol, body image and/or so many more. Don’t hide from your sadness and anger, or try to suppress it. Feel it. Learn from it. Let your unhappiness motivate you to make your life better.

Unhappiness, even in a small area of your life, gives you the motivation to evolve, to learn and adapt and move onto a better path. Yes, I’m talking about your life.

This sad or angry place you are in is simply your starting point.
